A Message from Maura Jo, Connecticut-based EBB Instructor
I started teaching childbirth education in 2007 and have taught a number of programs both independently and in the hospital setting at three different hospitals and there is NOTHING else like the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class on the market. Add to it with the Hypnosis, Mindset and Mindfulness Module and you have the best possible preparation I have seen in all my years in this field. This program teaches Comfort (so birthing can feel better), Advocacy (SO important right now and a great skill for parenting too), and Evidence (so you know how to get optimal care for yourself, whatever the circumstances), with synchronous Mentorship every week of the program! Plus, you get to do the weekly assignments at your own pace AND earn points to redeem for fun little prizes at the end of our last class meeting. My goal is to teach folks how to empower and prepare themselves during their journey into parenthood (and make it fun). Will I Learn how to have a Natural (Physiologic) Birth?
Evidence Based Birth® believes that every person has their own unique path. Instead of focusing on medicated vs. unmedicated birth, we focus on giving you tools and helping you learn the evidence and how to navigate your care, so that you can make your own informed decisions! This program provides a strong emphasis on non-drug (physiologic) techniques for the birthing room, because they have no side effects and can be used by everyone, with or without medications.
At the end of this class, you will have all the tools you need to create your optimal labor and birth experience. If you want a physiolgic birth, this class will give you basic mindset skills (relaxation) and physical techniques you need. If you're looking for more, select the ticket with the Hypnosis, Mindset and Mindfulness Module included for additional mindset skills to keep comfortable, calm and confident during your birthing time!
We’ll cover how you can be prepared for any curveballs that might come your way on your big day, too!
Class Format: Online and Zoom Call
In the interest of everyone's health and well-being, at this time, all classes will be held online via Zoom call.
Before our first call: You will access orientation information and prepare for our first class.
Class One, Week One: Our first class jumps right in with key information about the process of birth!
Independent Learning and Group Discussions, Weeks 2 - 3: Zoom calls will be 1.5 hours each and will be a discussion of the week's videos and exercises. Remember, for every week's lesson you watch, and for each practice session you do on your own, you’ll earn points towards fun prizes! You’ll have access to the Instructor during weekly Zoom sessions (video chat).
Independent Learning, Week 4: Complete your video sessions and take the additional Hypnosis, Mindset and Mindfulness module if you've selected that add-on. Use this week to earn all your extra points before our last session!
Final Class, Week 4: Our final class puts all the skills together and you get to select your prizes based on the points you've earned. Keep in touch when the baby arrives and we can set up a reunion call!!

What are the registration options?
Both standard and deluxe tickets includes all classes, weekly Zoom video chats with your Instructor, access to your lessons online at the Evidence Based Birth® Academy, a PDF library, and 3 months of access to the online resources.
Deluxe tickets also include the Hypnosis, Mindest and Mindfulness module for additional brain training skills, additional 3 months access to the online resources and a complimentary one-hour consultation with your Instructor to discuss your goals.
One ticket is good for both the pregnant parent and their chosen support person. Your doula is also invited to attend any of our final session if you have already hired doula!

Refund Policy:
Your payment reserves a spot in the class and is non-refundable, but tickets are transferable to another family with one week's notice and approval from Maura Jo. If you find yourself ill the day of a live class, observe what you can via Zoom and be sure your partner is prepared to take notes so you can review the information.
*Your instructor is an active doula, and if a client needs her virtual support during our scheduled class time, she will reach out to you as soon as possible to reschedule.
